It is Black Friday! The time of year shoppers can expect to score some amazing deals in shops and online.
Unfortunately, it is also the time of year that cyber criminals are looking to score.
LAWtrust has compiled a list of four tips to help you shop securely so that you can make the most of Black Friday 2020!

To ensure that the website you are shopping at is secure - look for the padlock symbol.
The lock means that the connection between your computer and the website is encrypted.
Phishing is one of the most popular attacks on the internet. An imposter, pretending to be from a legitimate website, will advertise amazing specials through email, social media or online advertisements.
However, the website the advertisement directs you could be a fake website. The fake website could attempt to harvest your personal details, banking details or install malware on your computer.
Never reuse passwords. If an attacker manages to steal your password from a shopping website, they could try to use your password to get into other websites like gmail, facebook, twitter, online banking, etc.
Never enter your online banking password or the PIN for your credit / debit card on a web form. Be very wary of the website that asks for this information.
Please keep these tips in mind while surfing the web and enjoy the shopping!
